Resource Centre
Bromley Autistic Trust's Library
The resource library is a comprehensive collection of information on all aspects of autism for parents, professionals, teachers and siblings. It opened in December 1996, with generous support from the Harris Charitable Trust and its purpose is to raise awareness amongst professionals and offer a resource for parents wishing to understand more about their child's disability. The resource centre now houses one of the most up-to-date libraries of information on autism, with over 500 books and videos available to borrow.
Library Services:- Lending library

The resource centre moved into a separate room in 2004 making it accessible at any time during normal office working hours. It is an extremely comprehensive library of information on all aspects of autism, which is available for all BAT members to use as required. Do feel free to come and browse. The library is continually up-dated with new publications as well as research articles, newspaper cuttings, directories and handbooks.
There are many new books which have a wealth of information on people's experiences that are easy to read and offer suggestions of ways to help. Knowledge of autism helps everyone concerned and we have books specifically for parents, professionals, teachers and siblings.
When borrowing books we ask for a £5 deposit for each item borrowed, which is refunded on its return. All loaned items need to be returned within 3 months and the deposit is retained for any books or videos that are not returned within 6 months.
The resource centre is an excellent source of information for BAT's members
