Recent Family Support Services Newsletter
Welcome to our Summer Newsletter! You will find our workshops list for next term which we hope will be of interest to you. Please don't forget that places do need to be booked so we have a note of your contact details. Sometimes workshops have to be moved or changed so it's important we can contact you if this happens. Please have a look at the new meetings being offered this time round!
First of all some "thank-yous":- To Mrs Joanne Swaden - who brought in a wonderful visual that she no longer uses - this has already proved of great interest to families on our Communications Workshop.

Many parents ask about ways to meet other parents with children on the Autistic Spectrum in an informal and "non appointment" based way. We would like to introduce you to Lee and Sally Wells and Michelle Wren. These wonderful parents have started a parents group and organise different social opportunities, including meetings at the pub from time to time and coffee mornings on a monthly basis. These are great opportunities to meet other parents and are geared to be friendly and positive experiences! If you would like further information on when and where people will be meeting from September please e-mail ..
Some parents have asked about support for brothers and sisters of children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. We would like to highlight the work of Young Carers in this respect. Young Carers do a great job by providing social opportunities, newsletters and support for siblings. Do let us know if you would like further information about this - feedback from parents has been really positive! Additionally, we do run one-off groups for siblings at BAT from time to time. Let us know if you are interested in this.
